RODEN 1/48 DH-9

-Well, another roden(t) kit to's like clubbing a baby seal.

-Perhaps I am just too unskilled a builder for these way overcomplicated kits, but I will leave that to you to decide - I just have hard luck with Roden kits.

-The usual...

--Complex directions making even the simple things complex (13, yes 13 parts for a 1/48 scale bomb? Not kidding, see directions below and click to expand.)

--Tiny, fragile parts that break upon the touch.

--Parts that simply do not fit as described.

--Very fragile decals.

--Cockpit parts that actually keep the fuselage APART when putting the halves together.

--No crew (not that big a deal, but for the $$$, they should be in there!)

--Many EXTRA parts that are confusing to have with the kit.

Overall, unless you are a very good model maker and have PLENTY OF TIME to rectify the faults, I would tend to avoid this one. I bought it as an "open box but still in the pouches" kit for around $10. I think it was beyond my capabilities.

Bottom Line: Pass on this one. It retails for over $30 and is simply not a value considering the consternation you may experience.

Do not mettleĀ in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
