This is my HM P-51B mustang. It seems a lot of the HM P-51B mustang give you the bubble option but I wish they'd include the original birdcage. I'm curious about Anderson and pilots in general. In this case there is this P-51B Old Crow but it seems that theres a P-51D also and that one is seen in drab and bare metal versions. I guess they got a new plane every time a new version became available or something. As far as reviews goes this one's landing gear again was hard to fit and the gear doors look odd due to poor fitting into the wheel wells. I read somewhere that Bud Anderson was friends with Chuck Yeager.

On June 6, 1944 near Leipzig, Germany while the 363rd FS/357th FG P-51B Mustangs were
escorting B-17s on a bombing mission eight German Fw-190s came up to engage the bombers.
The P-51s reacted and went after the Fw-190s with Capt. C.E. Bud Anderson unleashing a long-
range volley eliminating the leader who bailed out. This time Anderson moved in closer on the
second Fw-190 and set him ablaze. The third Fw-190 of the day for Bud came when the German
failed to see him and flew directly in front of the P-51 with a predictable outcome. At the end of
WWII Bud Anderson was credited with 16.25 victories, making him a triple ace.

Nice looking plane with excellent paint work. I guess this is 1/48? Was the pilot figure included?

Interesting history to go with it!

Tom

Yes, all Hobby Master Mustangs are 1/48 Scale. Pilot is included with all Hobby Master models (but not with SkyMax).

The Old Crow is one of my favorites. Hobby Master did a great job and I wish i collected in 1/48. I had the pleasure of meeting Col. Anderson at the Wings Over Houston Airshow. He told my son a joke: "Do you want to be a pilot when you grow up?" My son nodded yes. Col. Anderson replied: "You can't do both" Probably one of the greatest times i have ever had at an airshow.
