Tom recently posted pics of his DIP Models 1/43 die-cast SA-2 and carrier. This is the 1/35 styrene equivalent tooled by Trumpeter, finished here in Egyptian markings. I don't do much armour but fortunately this was fairly easy to build (a lot of parts though). Tyres were vinyl and the kit included a small photo-etch fret. Great fun to paint and weather.

Geez...you are a master modeler with armor too! Nice build, very professional...

I have read about the technique when I used to get MMIR magazine. Migrant's stuff looks like the models they had in that magazine. A level I will never achieve....lol.

No kidding! I focused in on this shot too for the same reason. With the chain, spare tire, and various scuffs, etc., It looks like a real work truck. Awesome work. I love this stuff.

Thanks DCR. The basic finish is airbrushed, but the weathering effects are brush-painted.

I haven't gotten into air brushes - yet. I like to use rattle cans on larger parts before starting to assemble parts as a basis but a lot of it gets covered over as the build progresses.
