The British Aircraft Corporation TSR-2 was a cancelled Cold War strike and reconnaissance aircraft developed by the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) for the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the early 1960s. The TSR-2 was designed to penetrate a well-defended forward battle area at low altitudes and very high speeds, and then attack high-value targets in the rear with nuclear or conventional weapons.

The TSR-2 was the victim of ever rising costs and inter-service squabbling over Britain's future defence needs, which led to the controversial decision to scrap the programme in 1965.

To quote the great Aircraft Designer Sir Sydney Camm:

"All modern aircraft have four dimensions: span, length, height and politics. TSR-2 simply got the first three right".

The aircraft portrayed by Corgi is the first prototype XR219 which was the only TSR-2 to fly. The anti-flash white finish is convincing and the model is a nice rendition of this Legendary aircraft. Highly Recommended for anyone with an Avro Arrow or SR-71 in their collection.

Two aircraft that should have been built - but for political reasons were not. Avro Canada's CF-105 Arrow and the TSR-2.
