I picked this up cheaply and was pleasantly surprised by the kit itself. It was quite simplified (especially compared to the Hasegawa kit) but had recessed panel lines and optional tails for early and late F-104 models. Built as a drone, which could also be piloted, and painted with Gunze lacquers.

Sharp looking build. I love F-104s. It is a very striking finish and the blurred display certainly makes the static model look fast!

My pleasure. Is the base a commercially produced product or did you create it?

I made the runway myself, using Photoshop to create and blur the runway graphics, then printed it out and mounted it on to a commercially-available wooden base. I've made a few of these with minor variations for different aircraft.

Very imaginative on your part! The things we can do with computers and printers! I have often thought of doing decals for planes and model railroad applications. I just don't have the patience to do it...

Mike,

I don't recall if I saw this on the old forum or on your web site. Regardless, it is a beautiful illusion of speed you managed to pull off. Absolutely gorgeous.
