Another very nice kit from Airfix though it did cause me one or two problems in the final stages. One or two figures included just to give it a bit more life.

A nice bit of Airfix artwork just to finish off.

Nice build! I like the weather beaten look to the veteran fighting plane. Excellent!

WOW! What a fantastic build DCR. The weathering is so well done and the plane looks incredibly realistic. I have the 72nd scale Airfix kit of this aircraft and if you are okay with this, I want to use your build as a guide model for when I build mine.

awesome

Allan

More than OK Allen. Smile

I have to say though, despite my preference for 1/72 in diecast I do prefer 1/48 for modelling. It's the shaky fingers and failing eye sight. Smile

I am starting to have the same issues. Also space for displaying what I build is paramount. 72nd scale offers me the best of both worlds: still easy for me to handle and build, plus they take up a lot less space than a 48th scale build. I will use your model as inspiration and as a guide to what a BP Defiant should look like.

My Gawd,  what an absolute masterpiece John, it really is !!!!!!!

Like, everything is just brilliant.... brilliant.

Model, detail, photography, colour-scheme (it's Hornchurch/264, no need to be biased Arrow )

If, in future years, I make one & it turns out even just 1/4 good as this, I'll be a happy-man.

I love the fact that Hornchurch puts 264 "on the map" & vice-versa.

Folks always bang on about Hornchurch Spitfires, but I prefer these...
(purely from an interest level & that 264's finest moments were from there, too).

I love the look of the Defiant, always have, always will.
Some of the photo's that were taken on the same spot(s) I walked our dog, played football, etc.

We even had our road shut-down (Southern edge, Airfield, 1996), due to a huge UXB**, dropped by KG.3 Dornier Do.17's
Homes were evacuated for the day & my kids sent home from school !!!!!!
(** UXB = unexploded-bomb, found near Albyns farm, September 1996)

IIRC, the 'salvaged' Do.17 (now, Cosford?), was "taken out" by 264's Defiants. (single, rather than plural ?)

 Classic warplane, iconic colour-scheme & a GREAT model = Deeply Impressed !!!!!!!!

Post-Edit ; Forgot to mention THAT superlative artwork - Splendid stirring stuff that !

What is the name of the (genius), Artist who created it ?

The scenery below reminds me of Portland Bill, although it's not...
