PostSubject: REVIEW: Hobby Master HA1923 US Navy McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II, VX-4 "Vandy 1", 1972   Sun Jul 16 2017, 23:56

Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series
HA1923
United States Navy McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II
VX-4 "Vandy 1", 153783, NAS Point Magu, California
Oct 1972
Limited 2,000 Units

In 1952 the USN established Operational Test and Evaluation Squadrons, VX-4 and VX-5 with call signs "Vandy". The black paint scheme first appeared in 1969 on F-4J Phantom II 153783 call sign "Vandy One". The most famous marking on these black aircraft was the white bunny head. In February 1982 F-4J 153783 was sent to AMARC. In 1984, along with 14 other F-4Js, 153783 was sent to the RAF No.74 Tiger Squadron as ZE352(G). On February 26, 1991 ZE352(G) was withdrawn from service and scrapped in 1995.

Another great F-4 by Hobby Master.
